Director Product Strategy
A Philly boy, born and raised, Bruce Salkovitz began his software career while still a student at Temple University, when he was recruited by Cricket Software to handle support for a successful family of small business graphics software products. He would go on to become product manager for these graphics applications, coordinating product presence at trade shows, users’ groups, and in the press: researching user needs; conducting competitive analysis; producing product planning guides for feature sets, interface designs, and life cycle management; and developing product demos and marketing and support literature.
When the entrepreneurial company was sold to behemoth Computer Associates International, Bruce reluctantly joined the legions of Corporate America, spending several soul-sucking years at CA and then on to a division of Intergraph, Inc., before once more answering the siren call of the small software startup. He joined ESPS in 1997 as Quality Assurance Engineer/Technical Support Analyst responsible for testing CoreDossier, and supporting the application, installation, and integration of the CoreDossier compound document publishing system with document management systems in a Windows NT enterprise.
It was at ESPS that Bruce’s career and expertise became laser-focused on BioPharma regulatory content management and publishing – from paper to eCTD. He rose within the ranks of ESPS to become Project Engineer for the company’s Consulting Services Group, and Team Leader for its Project Engineering Group. By the time he left ESPS, Bruce had represented the company to 40+ clients, the FDA and two divisions of the Canadian government as Product Manager.
Bruce then joined Image Solutions Inc. to help build the company’s Services Group and later became Product Manager for ISIPublisher and ISIToolbox. When ISI was acquired by CSC Inc., Bruce again found himself swimming with the sharks in Corporate America as Solution Owner for the enterprise-level CSC TRS Regulatory Publishing Solution.
Today, Bruce is happy to be back in an entrepreneurial environment as Director of Product Strategy for Gemstone cloud, where he orchestrates the manifestation of apps to support and facilitate the Regulatory Affairs business process.
When not striving for simplicity, staring at screens, or talking to his cat, Jarvis, Bruce can be found cheering on the Philadelphia Eagles, collecting comic books and superhero paraphernalia, sipping fine wine, or with his wife Linda, cycling the back roads of bucolic Bucks County, PA with the Central Bucks Bicycle Club www.cbbikeclub.org.
