Facet is Proud to be a 2025 SNMMI Mars Shot Research Fund Donor

Facet Life Sciences contributed to and proudly supports the 2025 Mars Shot program, a Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) initiative that provides funding to developers using nuclear medicine to find novel and innovative therapies for the prevention, treatment, mitigation, and cure of complex diseases.

The Mars Shot program was envisioned as a bold initiative that would push the boundaries of science to discover products that will revolutionize patient care. The program aims to raise $100 million to fund nuclear medicine and imaging research focused on identifying and improving both new and existing treatments for cancer, as well as other disease treatments. Contributions to the Mars Shot fund will support research efforts that could lead to earlier disease detection, more personalized therapies, and improved patient care.

In 2024, Mars Shot funding made it possible to launch pioneering clinical trials and expand the use of innovative radiopharmaceuticals. It also supported research designed to use levels of PSMA expression to customize treatment for prostate cancer and several new technologies for breast cancer detection and treatment.

“We share the Mars Shot program’s vision and believe that diagnostic and therapeutic molecular imaging technologies can make transformative contributions to medicine. We are committed to moving these technologies forward by helping companies navigate the FDA process to bring new products to market for patients in need,” says Lisa Jenkins VanLuvanee, Ph.D., Chief Operating Officer and Vice President of Research and Development at Facet Life Sciences.

Our company is proud to support the Mars Shot program and SNMMI’s mission to improve patient lives through advances using nuclear medicine. We also take pride in backing small teams with ambitious goals. Facet’s aggressive and entrepreneurial development approach has helped over 20 radiopharmaceutical and diagnostic companies get to and through FDA, to get life-improving and life-saving products to patients faster.
