Strategic Statistical Consultant
Originating from North Carolina, Kristen has spent the majority of her life in various locations between the Appalachian mountains and Atlantic ocean within that state. As an only child for the first twelve years of her life, Kristen’s family was thrilled she ventured only two hours away to North Carolina State University (NCSU) when heading off to college. While her intention was to study civil engineering at NCSU, Kristen wandered upon a statistics class and the rest is history… or rather statistics. Her love of puzzles and math clearly won out.
Working as a statistician for an agricultural genetic research company was Kristen’s first foray into the post-college career world. After a couple of years there, she transitioned from agriculture to healthcare, moving into the Contract Research Organization (CRO) world. Kristen spent the next twenty-two years supporting numerous therapeutic areas as various levels of a statistical programmer, project/program lead, operational service lead, and multiple other hats within the CRO space. Additionally, she spent around ten years supporting, and occasionally leading, the Southeast SAS Users Group (SESUG).
On Sunday mornings, you can typically find Kristen playing in her garden or at her easel, quietly painting, surrounded by her four cats and two dogs. She’s always up for a fun road trip, and can be ready for an impromptu beach trip within ten minutes.
