Derick’s journey to Facet Life Sciences is built on more than 30 years of chemical, pharmaceutical, and regulatory expertise. While his initial pursuit of an education in chemistry was driven by the opportunities in the field, he quickly found a deep, lifelong passion for the science of organic chemistry.

Derick spent the first 15 years of his career in the lab, specializing in synthetic organic chemistry, conducting API process development at Pfizer Inc., and supporting a new research program at a startup company. In 2012, he transitioned into Regulatory Affairs, spending 14 years at Perrigo company. There he navigated the complexities of NDA and ANDA submissions for both prescription and OTC products. Derick excels at distilling complex regulatory challenges into clear, successful strategies.

A long-time West Michigan resident, Derick stays active outside of the office by exploring the Great Lakes State. However, his true passion is on the water; an avid bass fisherman, he is a regular competitor in local bass tournament circuits. He also serves his community and church as a mentor for young men.
