Strategic Program Champion
Jason grew up in a tiny Texas town about 50 miles north of Dallas. He spent his youth working on his grandparents’ farm helping to care for his grandad’s cattle, bailing hay, and generally enjoying the outdoors. Jason was also actively involved in the Boy Scouts of America, earning the Eagle Scout rank as a teenager.
Jason has had an interest in science since the 3rd grade. So, moving to Dallas to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in biology at the University of Texas at Dallas was a natural move. After completing his degree in Biology, Jason continued to explore the wonders of the biological world at Penn State University, while pursuing a Ph.D. in Biochemistry, Microbiology, and Molecular Biology for his work on intracellular signal mechanisms in T cells. Jason moved to the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area to work at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) as a postdoctoral researcher. Here he explored the mechanisms and downstream effects of calcium ion channels in non-excitable cells (such as immune system cells).
At the end of his postdoctoral fellowship, Jason decided to move from basic laboratory science to the pharmaceutical industry as a regulatory affairs professional. In this role, he enjoyed using his scientific background to advance the development programs of new therapies. This has been an extremely rewarding and fulfilling career move. As a Product Development Champion, Jason continues to lean on his scientific background and experience with FDA. He enjoys assisting clients to navigate the regulatory environment while learning about their unique and exciting products. Jason really loves to dig in and learn about all aspects of a specific drug development program, and is especially eager to step in where there is an unmet need.
Outside of work, when he’s not carting his 2 daughters all over the country for gymnastics events, Jason enjoys many outdoor activities including backpacking, kayaking, cycling, hunting, fishing, and gardening. He also loves to cook. Jason’s friends and family often demand that he fire up his BBQ smoker and cook his famous beef brisket, which he gladly does. When forced inside, Jason spends time taking care of his 55-gallon saltwater reef aquarium and its colorful corals, fish, shrimp, crabs, and other inhabitants.
