Strategic Commercialization Consultant

Growing up in the Midwest, I spent most of my childhood around animals, including horses, spending most of my weekends at horse shows and farms. Later, while in High School, I fell in love with sports, playing both baseball and hockey (even with little talent in either sport). High School was also where I developed my interest in U.S. history and legislative policy.

While at North Texas State University, I majored in Communications but fell in love with public policy, working as an intern for a member of the Texas Legislature, later, a U.S. Congresswoman (an early introduction to healthcare policy and politics).

That early background in public policy led to my eventual career path in healthcare, with over 25 years of experience in healthcare and medical policy, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR), value-based platform development, market access strategy development, patient outcomes, pricing and reimbursement strategy development in both private industry global markets as well as healthcare consulting services, including senior leadership and project management roles.

I received both my master’s degree and my PhD in Healthcare Administration and Policy (Health Economics) from Harvard University, TH Chan School of Public Health. I am a fellow, American College of Healthcare Executives and have published several papers on HEOR trends both here in the U.S. and in Europe. These publications include health economic models that were included in the Affordable Care Act and the 21st Century Cares Act. Recently, I became board certified as a Medical Affairs Specialist, advancing my education and training in Medical Affairs.

Outside of my work in healthcare economics and market access, I currently spend much of my free time working with local animal shelters to find homes for abandoned and abused animals and serve on a local Community Board focused on providing shelter, clothing, food and permanent housing for LGBTQ children that are homeless.

I enjoy skiing, hiking and racquetball- my new passions, a bit later in life.
