As the son of a teacher and a liquor store manager, Taylor was drawn to medical writing because it balances the dual drives for perfection and collaborative fun. Taylor studied the biology of aging as a lab scientist and assisted in running clinical trials at a local cancer center. These experiences gave him a strong appreciation for the need to relieve human suffering and build a better future.

In a house shared with his partner Florence, the cats Curtis and Olive, and the snakes Floki and Thorstein, you can often find Taylor engrossed in the visual storytelling of video games or reading up on political theory. Outside of the house, Taylor enjoys hiking, boating, and ordering spicy cocktails at local happy hours. His dream vacation is to the monuments of old Egypt, and he loves connecting the material history of the past to the present.
